Inspired to bring good health and energy to your life

I started my medical journey when in my youth I discovered a desire for learning and a passion for helping others. After obtaining a degree in genetics and premed from UC Davis and preparing for conventional medical school, a realization dawned upon me. There was a lingering sense that the conventional medical route might not provide the comprehensive understanding and versatile toolkit I sought to truly unravel the root causes of health issues. Recognizing the importance of delving deeply into individual cases, I made a pivotal decision to pursue a doctorate in Chinese medicine. My career as a doctor of Chinese medicine taught me the power of devoting time and research into the root cause of disease. Adopting the role of a detective, I honed the skill of connecting clues to unveil the underlying causes rather than chasing symptoms. The fulfillment derived from this approach motivated me to continue evolving.

After the birth of my child nine years ago, I found myself grappling with my own health issues. I struggled to figure out my own insomnia, fatigue, pain, and inflammation. This personal struggle became a turning point, leading me to discover the transformative potential of functional medicine and the power of functional lab analysis. Armed with this newfound toolkit, I embraced the role of a health detective, interpreting lab results with a wealth of clues guiding me toward precise, individualized treatment programs that yield tangible results.

After mastering the foundational principles of Chinese medicine, which instilled in me the art of discovering the root cause from a systems approach, my journey into functional medicine has elevated this skill to new heights. It enables me to pinpoint hidden sources of dysfunction based on biochemical, physiological, and genomic individuality, thus offering a comprehensive understanding of each patient's unique health landscape.

When I'm not working to uncover the drivers of patient health complaints, you'll find me spending time with my husband and daughter, climbing, dancing Cuban salsa, and practicing yoga. My commitment to unraveling the mysteries of health is not just a profession but a passion that permeates every aspect of my life.
